Black & Well LBC | Elite Skills Develop

In 2020, the City of Long Beach awarded Elite Skills a CARES Act grant through the Black health Equity Fund. The grant was awarded to develop a digital and hard copy “COVID19 and Healthy Living Resource Guide”, Black & Well brochures, accompanying videos that provide culturally tailored information to mitigate the risk, transmission, and spread of COVID-19 to Long Beach Black residents.

Healthy Living Guides

Black & Well Healthy Living Guides were distributed to families, libraries, businesses, clinics, etc.

COVID-19 culturally appropriate videos were produced. The videos included demonstrations by elementary and middle school students, they shared their feelings on COVID and how to properly wear masks

Low salt, Cajun Seasoning packets were distributed. Lessons and recipes were also provided to additional low salt seasonings.

'Soul Food Done Light' videos were produced and distributed.

Our Black & Well LBC program’s “Healthy Living Guide” helps do just that, by providing resources, tips, and recipes for living a healthy life.
