Black & Well LBC

In 2020, the City of Long Beach awarded Elite Skills a CARES Act grant through the Black health Equity Fund. The grant was awarded to develop a digital and hard copy “COVID19 and Healthy Living Resource Guide”, Black & Well brochures, accompanying videos that provide culturally tailored information to mitigate the risk, transmission, and spread of COVID-19 to Long Beach Black residents.

Ladie's First
 

Ladies First was started in 2000, by six moms looking to build a village that would inspire and support their daughters from Middle School through College. Over the years their daughters invited their friends and they invited friends and Ladies First blossomed.

In 2021, 16 Black serving organizations and 3 mental health providers were funded through the City of Long Beach to provide culturally affirming COVID-19 mitigation to Long Beach Black residents.
